Introduction

The literal meaning of salvation in the religion can be defined as the saving of the human's soul from the sins and the consequences of the sins. In other words it can be defined as the redemption of deliverance from the sins and the effects it can lead to. It is obvious that God has created the human for a specific purpose. That specific purpose was that God had made a race in the form of humans who were to continuously the God for his glory and power and thus promise the God that they will seek their way of living according to His wish. It was the human who backed off his promises and forgot the purpose for which he was created by trusting the evil. This turned out to be the biggest mistake committed by the human being who made him fell in the eyes of the God. But the kindness and forgiveness of God gave another possibility to rise and get his deserved place as God wanted to salvage the human. This is the actual concept of salvation (Robb, 2008, pp. 121-125). It depends upon the traditions in the religion that salvation is regarded as to be done by the human.

Discussion

The purpose of writing this paper is to give readers an idea about the concept of salvation that from where it originates and how it transformed into the modern world. Therefore, for this purpose, the author highlighted numerous examples from the past, so that it gives the reader a comprehensive knowledge about the concept.

Salvation according to different religions

It is the human who makes the effort depending on his will or considering it to be his own responsibility. Different Religions have a different perspective regarding the concept of salvation as in most of the religions consider it to be personal effort to wash out all the sins. In the soteriology the term salvation has two different meanings. Firstly it refers to the concept of being guarded against the evil sources. This concept is proclaimed in the religions of Islam, Judaism and Christianity. The other concept states that the soul of a human is being saved from the adversities of the destiny. Soteriology is termed as the academic study of salvation. This study mainly deals with the relative comparison of how different religions take the concept of salvation and how it can be achieved. In the religion of Hinduism the concept of salvation takes to get free by the transmigration of the inner soul.

This is a particular belief which did not exist in the Abrahamic Soteriology. In the religions of Buddhism and Jainism the divine forces have no role to play in the concept of salvation as both of these religions term salvation as a causal view point. Almost all the Western and Eastern religions conceive the phenomena of salvation as of being guarded from the death.
