ABSTRACT
This research provides information on the different types of (Sexual harassment at workplace) SHW experienced as well as the duration of its effects. Severity and impact were measured for various symptoms due to SHW, and information was gathered showing how SHW can affect whether victims quit a job or were fired once the harassment began. In addition, the study includes whether mental health counseling was sought due to SHW as well as why or why not counseling was sought. The study also provides information on the widespread problem of SHW as well as some of the many complex & actors that produce and affect the likelihood of SHW. Additional topics covered are the four sexual harassment (SH) stages that a victim may go through once the harassment begins, the commonplace silence that many SHW victims experience, and the importance of further research. Only women were included in this study due to the fact that the majority of abuse in our society is against females. The term "sexual harassment" was conceptualized as early as the 1970s by feminists in the United States. Up to that point in history, SH had not been labeled a problem and was not identified as a form of abuse.
