Overview on Leadership

Business is all about taking risks of many sorts, including the money invested. In order to run business successfully it is important for the owners to include all the factors of production effectively and efficiently to experience the ongoing benefits for longer time. One of the most important factors to fulfill such needs is the resource of labor that requires smooth leadership on which business development is based. Leadership is the essential part of any type of business as it proves to be the art of getting the work done by workforce in the perfect manner. A good leader has the ability to let his followers adopt the requirements and respond quite positively towards the accomplishment of directions and goals of business. A good leadership by a good leader ensures that there is effective communication between staff and leaders and the things are organized, as they should be (Navahandi?2006, pp. 118-127). Effective leaders who believe on smooth and successful leadership have many characteristics common among them. The characteristics include creative, desire and ability to move forward with determination, motivated towards goals, multi talented and thorough understanding of their requirements and expectations. The leaders follow various types of leadership styles and approaches that suit their abilities, organization type, type of staff, atmosphere of organization and many more. According to these factors, they choose the most preferable and appropriate style, taking decisions and dealing the staff. In order to pursue the continuous success if effective leaders are appointed by the organization to exercise authority over others then the organization can really experience much and rapid growth in a short period of time. It is because leaders ensure that the staff are highly motivated and can easily work in the given authority. But certain styles of leadership do not go in to the favor of this follow up as according to them staff needs to be pushed and handles with greater extent of supervision, never ready to accept the responsibility (Rost, 2001 pp, 14-23). Whatever the style of leadership is opted, it has direct impact upon the running of business that becomes proper and developed with the passage of time. The incisive minds of leaders enable the business to resolve the issues quickly and by adopting the suitable techniques they do thorough consideration of the risks associated with the business and eliminate those risks to a very greater extent (Wren, 1995, pp.46-51).
