Barack Obama had the honor of being the 44th President of United States of America. His Presidency formally started from noon 20th January, 2009. He won the election against John Mcain, who was his active competitor. Obama was a Senator hailing from Illinois when he was deemed victorious over his Arizonian counterpart. Barack Obama is also the first ever African American President that U.S had ever had.

Obama's decisions and the policies he has implemented have succeeded in tending to the financial crisis that had spouted up globally at the time of his election. The changes he made include, initiatives in the foreign policy, legislations to reform the heath care industry of the US, revised tax policies, and even addressing the issue of Guantanamo Bay detention camp which is situated in Cuba. He was fortunate enough to attend the G-20 summit in his reign. He went on a tour of Europe after the summit and from there he revealed his intentions to reduce a substantial amount of the nuclear weapons present in the modern world. He was in Prague when he made this announcement. In the October of 2009, the same year he was elected President, Obama was presented with the Nobel Peace Prize because of

“His extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

He even went to Iraq to visit the troops sent there, on his authority. He was also responsible for bringing Osama Bin Laden, the world renowned terrorist, to his demise, thus making the world a safer place to live in for everyone.

Obama: A Blessing for the US or a Curse

The United States of America is a home to over 312 million people (according to the 2012 consensus). One thing must be kept in mind when passing judgment over public figures. The more people one has to cater, the difficult the task becomes and the more divided the opinion on his actions become. Taking an example on a microscopic scale, if a person is responsible for looking after two people, his has a good chance of being deemed 'good' or 'successful'. Increase the audience to 10, it becomes a chore due to difference of opinion, but can still be managed. Further increase it to 100 and there are bound to be some people who feel discontented. President Obama was a public servant, who catered to over 312 million people. His decisions if popular with half of the population are bound to be unpopular with the other half.

When making a judging the rule of any presidential tenure, two things are the main considerations which affect the decision. First is the popular average opinion polls, what the majority of the public thinks and secondly, not always the personal biasness of the evaluator.
