Introduction

Suicide that is accomplished through the help of a second individual, with the consent of the suicider, thus bringing about his death is known as assisted suicide. “Assistance” generally means that the second individual provides the necessary equipment (drugs, etc) for the person to end his life; however, the definition can be extended to contain other circumstances as well.
