Disease Prevention within the Hospitality Industry
Abstract
This paper provides an insight to the disease prevention in a restaurant in a hospitality industry. It will discuss effective prevention and control of communicable diseases in hotels in order to safeguard the health of the hotel guests and staff. The restaurants are obligated to secure the health of customers and employees. Training and educating of employees in cleanliness and personal hygiene is necessary in order to prevent from various diseases like food borne Disease. Ensuring quality health and safety of food various stages of the food chain is crucial for any restaurant. This paper will address different preventive measures which are crucial in order to maintain healthy environment in restaurants and decrease the probability of diseases caused by bacteria and viruses.

Disease Prevention within the Hospitality Industry
Introduction
The hospitality industry involves wide category of areas within the service market that includes places to stay, restaurants, event planning, recreational areas, transport, cruise line, and additional areas within the tourist market. A hospitality unit such as an eating place, hotel, or even an entertainment park involves multiple groups such as facility maintenance, direct functions (porters, servers, kitchen workers, housekeepers etc.) marketing, management and hr. Effective prevention and control of communicable diseases in hotels can safeguard the health of the hotel guests and staff. In order to uphold the reputation of hotels to overseas tourists, it is incumbent on every hotel staff to learn how to prevent communicable diseases. This paper is intended to provide practical information on the preventive measures of communicable diseases. Every hotel employee has the responsibility to understand the guideline and to take due care of the hotel guests. The restaurants are obligated to secure the health of customers and employees. Training and educating of employees in cleanliness and personal hygiene is necessary. (Green LR, 2005)This paper will address the ways of Disease Prevention in a restaurant, in Hospitality industry. It will discuss the Communicable Diseases along with different modes of transmission of diseases in people. Further, it will address Food Borne diseases which can occur in restaurant staff or guests of the restaurants if preventive measures are not taken. So the paper will include different preventive measures which are crucial in order to maintain a healthy environment in restaurants and decrease the probability of diseases caused by bacteria and viruses. These preventive measures include safety measures of restaurant's staff in personal hygiene and clothing. Further, health trainings are required to ensure safety of employees and guests and attention should be given to location of restaurant, physical structures, ventilation, dressing rooms and restrooms for the staff, sewage disposal, and solid waste disposal of the restaurants as a preventive measure to diseases.
