It is the calculation or determination of qualitative or quantitative risk value concerned with a concrete situation and a recognized hazard. In this case we are evaluating risk for the scenario of walking and working surfaces.

Hazards involved in walking and working surfaces are various which can be falls from same level, trips, slips, fire, means of egress, material handling and falls from height. The injuries related to these hazards are also of various levels like broken bones, fractures, contusions, concussion, back injury, strains and sprains and even can lead to death (Nakayama, n.d.).
