A consensus exists today in evangelical circles concerning the identity of the four kingdoms introduced in Daniel 2 and elaborated in Daniel 7. Indeed, the only alternative that has received any degree of scholarly defence is the position that marks the four kingdoms as Babylonian, Median, Persian and Greek.
