It is quite evident that the respiratory systems is the most essential organ and helps the human to take oxygen inside and exhale carbon dioxide. The research paper discusses the concept of the respiratory system, followed by the structure and it's working. It has also highlighted the treatments available all around the world. A case study related to respiratory system has also been elaborated.
Respiratory System
Introduction
Respiration is the process in which oxygen is inhaled, and carbon dioxide is exhaled. It is responsible for transferring oxygen into the lungs, further taken into the blood stream so that blood can be transported to all parts of the body. The oxygen is inhaled in and out of the lungs through the method of breathing (Chitranshi, 2009). Basically breathing is the process by which oxygen is taken inside, and carbon dioxide is taken outside of the body. The system, which is responsible for transmitting gas to the lungs and exchange of gases between the tissues, is called the respiratory system. The respiratory system plays a vital role in the body and helps in breathing and providing oxygen to the body.
Discussion
Structure and working of the respiratory system
The organs of the respiratory system and their functions are described below:
Nose
The main function of the nostrils is to inhale the air, purify it and remove all the dust particles, which is further transported to the lungs. The dust particles are removed by the tiny hair particles inside the nose, and all the bacteria is removed. (Nakate, 2011).
Pharynx
Pharynx is a sort of long tube, connected to another tube called trachea. It serves as a passage for air which comes from the nostrils. It also works for the digestive system because the food is passed through the pharynx inside the stomach (Chitranshi, 2009).
