Resource Planning

Introduction

Resource planning is a concept that integrates the activities and processes in the organization in relation to the organizational objectives. The efficient resource allocation of an organization has a direct impact on the overall performance. Considering the importance of this concept the paper has highlighted components related to resource planning, with core focus on the human resource and team planning, resource change management, and the monitoring of these resources (Umble et. al. 2003, pp. 241). All these elements in the paper have been discussed in contrast with the way a potential first line manager deals them, and makes statements related to the resource planning.

Resource Planning - In the context of a team

As a potential first line manager, the main aspect is to effectively lead and efficiently allocate the resources among the team. In the organizational context, team based working has proved to be a successful formula, specifically in order to meet the objectives of the human resource personnel. Resource planning and management with the team is a promising perception that provides responsibility and enrichment at the workplace. It is essential to identify the actual resources, and the ones that need to be further added as per the requirement of the organization and team. As a potential first line manager, the resource planning needs are extracted after a strong in-depth analysis of the processes, and relevant factors (Rao 2000, pp. 81). There needs to be a successful integration with the plans and the teams' needs to be analyzed and addressed according to the objectives. There must be a certain purpose behind the planning of resource needs for the team, and the goals involved in it must be achievable and appropriate. The resources are allocated following an allocation technique represented below:

Human Resources: The team is associated with the management of all the resources. As a team, it is the responsibility to coordinate with the human resource personnel and establish potential relationships. The main concern is to fulfill the team responsibilities for the better management of resources.

Financial Resources: The financial resources are associated with the team responsibilities in a way that the managers, as well as the team must make the best use of the budget. An organization's success is measured by the financial factors. Therefore, a team must make the best use of it.

Other Assets: The production facilities, environment, assets, materials, etc are the other form of resources. As a team, the focus must be to own these resources and focus on elements that further assist in the growth of these resources, as well as ...
