Background of the Problem

English language plays an essential and inevitable role in today's world. The English language is becoming more and more acceptable all across the globe thus it is increasingly incorporated in curricula in almost every country in order to teach English language to young children. Many private language institutions offer tuition for learning English language to young children for enhancing their communication and writing skills in English language (Hughes & Taylor, 2010). The research on teaching English language will help in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the teacher that are essential for supporting high-quality learning of English language amongst young children. For providing better learning skills amongst young children for English language, the teacher of English language must be proficient and they should develop practice and skills in teaching English language. Teachers of English language use different methods for teaching English language to the young children (Hughes & Taylor, 2010).

English language is being taught to almost every younger child in almost every country all across the world. In primary curriculum and education, the subject of English language has become compulsory because communication and writing in English language in today's world has become inevitable. English language is being used in each and every new technological advancement such as internet, mobile phones etc. Thus, teaching English language to younger children has become necessary in order to enhance their communication and writing skills in English language (Wits Language School, 2013). However, the practices, activities and curricula of English language are developed in very unplanned and ad hoc way due to the lack of research information which is required to implement high quality teaching skills. Helpful language policies are yet required to elucidate in order to design suitable programs of achievement and also to meet the actual challenge for assuring that the policies are suitably and effectively implemented in daily classroom's practices. Furthermore, understanding and knowledge of teaching practices for teaching younger children is sketchy. Yet there is a lack of good teaching practices because studies often concentrate on how young children catch specific skills such as vocabulary or reading (Wits Language School, 2013).

The report recommends best practices in teaching younger children with the help of the findings of the research, guiding and informing teacher education and teaching. Teachers of English language must focus on their everyday practices and activities that are applied for teaching English language to younger learners. The report will also focus on the children's attitudes and improvement in their English speaking and writing skills as a result of following effective teaching skills in English language. The research will also focus on the challenges that are presented as a barrier in enhancing English language skills amongst young children (Hughes & Taylor, 2010).
