Summary
This study was conducted for the evaluation of the effectiveness of a specific training for the prevention of psychoeducational eating disorders a follow-up of 1-year. It was a 5 week program in which 141 female students from nine different classes at a school were assessed with the help of a clinical interview via 40-item Eating Attitudes Test.
For this purpose s training program was designed for the teachers by the experts having experience in the field of eating disorders. Then these teachers were asked to teach the selected students. Once the students were trained, the observations were made after an year so that the calculation for the effectiveness of the program could be carried out.
The results obtained from the research were very impressive as the research succeeded to a great extent.
The study on “Teaching and Teacher Education” was conducted for the betterment of the level of education in the rural areas. The study is based on semi-structured interviews for the collection of data. The interviews were conducted with the members of the relevant administration. These members include regional officers, principals and teachers.
The data thus obtained was analysed by a team of researchers and the weaknesses of the education system were pointed. Measures were recommended at the end of the study for the elimination of the problem.
Justification for the research
The findings of the research will help the teachers and parents to help children overcome the eating disorders. This is done in order to design a low cost prevention system for children to overcome health problems by avoiding their eating disorders.
This research was conducted in order to find the weaknesses of the rural educational system, the emphasis of the research is on the secondary teachers so that the flaws of the system can be pointed out and the correction be made for the betterment of the educational system in rural areas.
The research “Engaging Teachers in an Eating Disorder Preventive Intervention” aims to the development of a low cost technique to deal with the problems of eating disorders in children. on the other hand “ Teaching and Teacher Education” is done to formulate a process for the education of the teachers of rural areas.
Scope
This study will help to develop an outline for the treatment of eating disorders in children that can be hosted by specifically trained teachers. This will help to cure the problem of eating disorders in children at young ages. The successful implementation of this process will help to develop better health of the children. This will help the children to stay slim during the time when media has a large focus on the slimness and physical fitness of human body.
