Explain what are you interested in researching and why?

Explain your general focus

The research of my interest is Gender Inequality. It is due to the reason that gender discrimination, gender inequality and gender stereotypes are considered among the actual reasons that stop children from apprehending their basic rights to protection, survival and development (Dollar, & Gatti, 1999). Gender discrimination, gender stereotypes and gender inequality are among the root causes that prevent children from realizing their rights to survival, development, protection, participation and an adequate standard of living.

The reason of chosen this research topic is that different stereotypes of femininities are observed to spoil and hurt all children (Dollar, & Gatti, 1999). These stereotypes usually prevent and obstruct girls and boys from building up strong relationships based on the mutual respect and understanding. Hence, children are deprived of respect in the society and in the families as well. Consequently, they are proved to be barriers to the reasonable sharing of dependability and responsibilities in societies and families for child bring up and decision based on the household level.

It is imperative to mention here that the around the world, the status of women and feminism is extremely poor and deprived. Increase in the per-capita income considerably leads to betterment in different aspects of gender inequality (Gender, Equity & Rural Employment Division of FAO, 2012). It is also being suggested that there may possibly be market failures obstructing investment in girls in most of the countries. Gender inequality in health and education can also be clarified to significant level by regional, religious and civil freedom and preferences. Hence, it is suggested that low investment in women in not a competent economic choice, and thus, it reveals that gender inequality in not acceptable in the education, health and different sectors from the economic perspectives (Gender, Equity & Rural Employment Division of FAO, 2012). The societies that have a choice for not investing in girls and women are likely to pay a price for it eventually in terms of reduced income and slower growth.
