Introduction

The purpose of this report is to ascertain the superior software application: Adobe Premier Pro vs. Final Cut; for this purpose I have enlisted three users: A novice user, an intermediate user and an advanced user (of different ages and gender). I will start by outlining the test task, I will then follow with an evaluation of each users attempt at the prescribed task and any feedback solicited from the users. I will go on to evaluate my users attempts at the test (and the test task itself); I will finish by summarizing the main points of this paper in my conclusion.

Discussion

Before proceeding with the prescribed test it is mandatory to understand the unique characteristics of both software applications in order to be able to effectively assess the findings and be able to concur the results against the feedback solicited, which will help understand people's understanding regarding the usage of these applications.

Adobe Premier Pro

Adobe Premier Pro is a new innovative CS6 software that incorporates not only an exceptional performance with a sleek updated interface with countless new features including the warp stabilizer for the purpose of stabilizing any video footage captured, timeline trimming, expandable multicam editing, layer adjustments. Adobes latest product has created a whole new collaborative workflow platform which enables teams to work collaboratively through the shared media feature. Adobe Premier Pro has also introduced a multitude of new creative features that helps edit video on the spot and have them presentable in a matter of minutes (Adobe, 2012).

According to a review on Adobe Premier Pro by Muchmore (2012) The Adobe Premier pro provides an obvious clean interface and provides a wide range of editing tools customization features and exceptional stabilization, however after using the Abode Premier it is apparent it has some bugs and frequently crashes and is slower in rendering. Overall the tool is a professional video editor which is fast and simple to use and has various new editing features. The new Warp stabilizer is extremely slow and takes a long time to analyze on frame at a time.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro X by Apple is also a video editing tool that makes video editing and organization easier, it offers a unique faster import window; video editing can easily be done from the camera as well. Final cut also provides precision audio editing which can easily be delivered on the export user interface. Images can easily be exported to various external platforms, pictures and videos can be managed through the effective management system. The tool also enables a user to export presets for various video websites like YouTube, Vimeo and Podcasts (Apple, 2012).
