Research Paper: Prisoner Re-entry
Introduction
There has been a massive increase when it comes to the degree to which incarceration has been used in the United States in the recent times. The increase in incarceration stimulated the public into considering the integration of prisoners into the society. This consideration instantly developed an opposition or a school of thought, which stated that although it is beneficial for the prisoners but the safety and welfare of the society should not be ignored and is of serious concern. There has to be a strong corrective system to ensure the fact that once the prisoners are released they are going to be harmless to the society in which they operate. The supporters however counter-argue that there are two types of people in the world one being good and the other being bad and both have the right to live in this world and prisoners are no exception.

In order to counteract such instances there have been prisoner re-entry programs made and are said to be important to integrate the prisoners back with the society in an effective and efficient manner. These prisoner re-entry programs not only mentor the prisoners but counsel them as well.
The number of crimes and the violence rate has said to be increasing in a consistent rate and it is these programs, which play a crucial role in the integration of the prisoners back to the society. The prisoner re-entry program not only mentor or counsel the prisoner but also make it a point that the prisoners make an effective contribution towards the betterment of the society (Wilkinson, Et.al, 2005). Such programs have made an effective contribution in terms of reducing the number of crimes after being released from the prison and are continuing doing it ...
