Several people think that homelessness of youth and crime are linked and by laws for instance the Safe Streets they work to move beside the youth. In fact, the reality is that homeless youth are among the offended persons in our world and they necessitate our protection. However, the purpose of our research is to explore crimes in homeless youth. This also explores that what role petty theft plays on young homeless, and what are the causes, moreover describes how initiated in the youth and what are the after effects. For the said purpose a research as well as interviews are conducted in order to explore the issues and to know about the ground realities.
Background
Poverty is also considered as a reason of homelessness. Poverty is not only lack of material goods. It affects the quality of life and also affects social and psychological. Arms are isolated, they are marginalized and are physically impaired health and particularly strained. Children from poor families tend to have lower chances of a prosperous life and are barely able to improve their situation. Durable material deprivation also burdens the relationships within families. Separations and divorces are common. Many street youths descended from parents whose marriages have failed. Unemployment, lack of necessary for survival and debt easily lead to intra-family tensions and sudden outbursts of violence. In one study, for example, homeless youth are five times more likely to be sexually abused in their childhood that young people living with their parents. In another study, parental violence (especially that perpetrated by mothers) is mentioned by the youth as the reason why they leave home. For many of these young people, the cycle of violence continues when they are homeless. They are much more likely, for example, to be victims of violence than youth in the general population, young women are particularly likely to be victims of sexual violence (Bantchevska et.al, 2008, pp. 285-293).
The reasons for these high rates include a history of vulnerability (e.g. History of abuse can cause trouble to protect itself), participation in the economy of the street (e.g. Participate in illegal activities to earn money can cause greater exposure to dangerous persons), social exclusion (e.g. limited access to public places and regulated and safe housing can push young people to turn to illegitimate or illegal housing) and the dependence on people who are victims of violence to the same degree. The homeless youth experiencing significant mental health problems: depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Studies also show high rates of suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts among this population.
Research Plan
I had planned a research for this purpose; the research was conducted with my two colleagues in order to get an understanding of the issues of homeless youth who usually get involved in different crimes such shoplifting. Interviews were conducted that guided the way of sessions of focus group who were engaged in homeless youth in order to provide the required perspectives as well as sharing of their experiences which ...
