Qualitative Research Analysis

Introduction

The nursing profession is a challenge for the person desired to be a working specialist in his or her field, many obstacles to cover and every critic to take, all in all makes one closer to the destination rather than stomping them. The ever going research and study in fields of Medicine and Nursing derive any one of us to conclusive and scientific methods of identifying truth and reality from fiction and imagination. The methodology of research both the qualitative and the qualitative analysis carry great responsibilities ethical and social and is designated to far and wide the ever lasting truth of unveiling reality. The research concerning to my assignment is subjected to my best of abilities to demonstrate my scientific evaluation in terms of topic concerned. My assay is about research analysis in term of sequestering nosocomial infections in elderly and promoting hand washing in geriatric medical settings (Mackenzie, 2008).

Abstract

The studies was carried out on 114 staff members executing their duties in mental health care settings for elderly, 2 National Health Services inpatient units and 5 private hospitals in north of England. This was a questionnaire based survey.

Discussion

Background

The basic reason for this research is to emphasize on the importance of hand washing in older patients with physical or psychological insufficiencies. The doctors, nurses, and residents are also at high risk situations due to contagious nature of most of the hospital acquired infestations. The geriatric who is not mentally sound needs continuous monitoring and attention regiments should be applied upon them to satisfy the basic cleanliness rules. Most of older people are not in states of acknowledging the fact that they are the most vulnerable entities to be the vector for nosocomial infections. So, it's the responsibilities of the professionals taking care of, to help, remind, and direct these patients for proper hand washing techniques. These HAIs (hospital acquired infections) are mostly colonizing bacteria that reside in elementary track, and genital organs. Harboring bacterial, viral or parasitic infestations has a critical and fatal consequence.

Objective

The basic fundamentals for this survey were to test the validity of two assumptions.

1. To encourage the patients for hand washing before having meals or anything to eat.

The hand washing habits in patients specially before having to eat is of utmost importance. By proper methods, one can be saved from hospital acquired diseases. These mainly are Streptococcus Aureus, Shigella, Acanthamoeba Histolytica, Salmonella Typhi and other parasitic infections. These organisms cling to the epithelium of the gut wall and burrow themselves and obtain blood and other nutrients necessary for their survival from the host (the infected individual). Thereby they multiply on favorable conditions and produce their off springs in drastically faster than imagine speeds and quantities. This infected person fall sick to these diseases and experience signs and symptoms of vomiting, fever, blood in stools (hematuria), abdominal discomfort and ...
