Abstract

This paper is based on the details about the Tourism in India. The discussion includes all the issues and development in the tourism industry of India. This paper also includes some details about the contribution of the tourism industry in the economic growth of the India. The two parts of the paper are primary research and secondary research. This paper also contributes to the conditions of the employment because of the tourism industry in India.

Tourism in India

Introduction

Tourism has become known for the largest global industry of the 21st century all over the world. It is expected that it will grow faster than previous years. There is huge possibility of growth in the tourism sector of India. India has vast religious and cultural in heritage and tradition, and variety of natural attractions. But on the other hand, India has small role in the scene of world of tourism. India should have an established tourism area because it is a country that is blessed with products and destination of tourism and should become the preference of the travellers and tourists from all the economic backgrounds and ages from all over the world (Clifford, pp 96-116).

Tourism means travel for leisure, business purposes and recreation. Tourists are normally defined as the people who travel and stay in other different places outer from their general environment in which they live for more than one day and not for more than one year for the purpose of business, leisure and any other purpose that is not related to such activity. Tourism industry of India is the fastest and largest growing industry in the country. Tourism industry of India has immense and vast impacts on the economy of the India. It also plays an important role in all other aspects of the development and growth of the India in particular the creation of the jobs. According to the few people, tourism industry of India is performing below from its potential and remained ignored. In spite of that fact, that it has unique and attractive culture and heritage, and wide range of other point of attractions for the world. The employment that is generated by tourism has little attention in the literature of the research. The reason for that is labour market is too vast, specific, and contextual to each economy (Clifford, pp 96-116).
