Introduction

The report aims to investigate the problems in the school library. Being a President of Parents Teacher Association, this report will identify problems and hurdles of children in school library. The report aims to suggest valuable and relevant recommendations that will help the committee members to focus on these issues and present remedies for the highlighted issues. It has been observed that our high performance schools are under jeopardy. There are several issues that hit the school in past several years. However, one of the major issues is the school library. A library is a place where students get facilitated with relevant information and it becomes their second teacher. After taking lectures and class students take their way to library for completing their assignments and other work. Library is the foremost place in a school and it should be given equal importance as given to studies, teachers, and students (Virgilio, et al, 2010). Library is the most helpful place for students and it provides varieties of knowledge to the students. Library should be up-to-date and attractive so that students try to refer library for their studies and extra knowledge.

It has been observed that students are not visiting library because of the mismanagement and other lack of facilities. Students and their parents have provided emails and suggestions to improve the library facilities. There are several complaints against the library management and facilities, but no sufficient steps have taken to solve the problem. The report has comprehensive and significant identifications of library problems and furthermore suggestions and recommendations are also given to solve the issue (Smallwood, 2011)..

“The priority for the library is a civic-patriotic line of work”

The school library is facing numerous problems that should be solved instantly to provide help to students so they can carry on to their assignments, researches, reading, and other educational work. The most important problem of library is its management (Thompson, 2009). Unfortunately, there is no supervisor assigned for the library neither and supervisor for the facility management of library is employed. The library is the important part of the school and it has equal significance as admission department, examination department, staff, and canteen. It should be separately managed and it should also be provided with separate budget. The library is not maintained and there are no sufficient facilities for the library. The following report will be addressing the issues that library, and will provide suggestions and recommendations.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure of library includes fixed equipments, furniture, walls, floor and other facilities.

Air Conditioner

As the summer season starts students start facing problems of high temperature in the room that do not encourage them to continue their studies and bring distractions in their learning activities. Some students have complained that they feel dehydrated and no one there complains. There are some students who refer several books while studying, but due to the lack of air conditioners they are not able to study in day time.
