Abstract

Renewal energy is becoming the most crucial and the most beneficial form of energy. Al most all the countries in the world are striving for the development of the renewal energy in order to satisfy their energy needs through natural resources. Developed countries such as China, Canada and the United States have higher needs of energy consumption which makes them more concerned about the development of the renewable energy.

Introduction

The aim of the paper is to discuss the importance of the renewal energy and the role of the governments of different countries in the development of the renewable energy in their countries. The paper highlights the learning from the case of Sri Lanka regarding the development of the renewable energy. Moreover, the paper discusses the struggle of China, Canada as well the United States in order to enhance the development of the renewable energy.

Renewable energy

Renewable energy is the modern form of energy that is abstracted from the energy of the natural resources including energy from the sunlight and wind as well as the renewable energy includes the energy from rain, tides and waves. In addition to it, the geothermal heat is one of the most prominent forms of the renewable energy. Most of the countries in the world are switching to the consumptions of the renewable resources as these resources are exceptionally beneficial for the overall scenario of these countries in terms of economic as well as technological benefits. For this reason, carious countries of the world are investing billions of dollars in the research and development in order to enhance the utilization of the renewable energies. A research evidenced that the total investment in the R&D of the renewable energy has reached up to $357 billion. China, Germany and the United States are the most prominent investors in the R&D pertaining to the renewably energy. In addition to it, some of the under developing countries are also striving for the consumptions of the renewable energies. Wijayatunga in this article discusses the crucial features of the development of the renewable energy in the environment of Sri Lanka. The main idea of this article is highlight the policy frame work that was supposed to enhance the expansion of this sector. This frame work is considered as the most crucial initiative of the site developers of the renewable energy. In addition to it, the article discusses the underlying approach of Sri Lanka regarding the renewable energy. The country has a great urge for the development of the hydro power plant in order to meet exponentially increasing demand of the electricity. Another reason for focusing on the frame work in order to connect the renewable energy in the small hydropower systems through grids is that the resources of the hydro energy is limited in the premises of the Sri Lanka.
