Introduction

Religions play a very important role in a person's life which is why there are many religions in this world. Each has its own sets of beliefs and principles. The religious expression of every religion is different from other. The culture of the followers of every religion is formed with the combination of religious teachings and the area in which they live. Therefore, this assignment focuses on explaining various religions and their cultures.

Synoptic Overview of Religious Expressions of Jewish

The Jewish people are a group ethnic descendants of the ancient Israelites in the Middle East . Religion is therefore an aspect of ethnic Jewish people, as well as cultural, social, linguistic, etc.. The precise definition of a Jew is controversial and may vary depending on which place greater emphasis on religious identity or secular (ethnic and sociological). The Jews have suffered a long history of persecution in different places and its population has changed over the centuries. Today, most authorities believe that the current global Jewish population is between 12 and 15 million, most of them resident in the United States and Israel (Chief, 1999).

The word Jew comes from Judah . Judah (or Judea Greek variant) also appointed to a political entity that existed in the eastern Mediterranean, at least a thousand years before the Common Era and even a century later. The people of Judea were Jews, a term that was later expanded also to those who had migrated from Judea and his descendants. In Castilian, the term Jew comes from the Latin Judaeus, in turn derived from the Greek Ioudaios (Chief, 1999).

Synoptic Overview of Religious Expressions of Indians

According to Scupin (2007), the Indians generally follow the Vedic religion which in the modern times is called Hinduism. It entered India at about 1500 B.C. Vedic religion is also called Brahmanism and Hinduism. It is believed that there is no single person who founded Vedic religion (Das, 2011). It is defined as a scientific, philosophical, spiritual and cultural system that was originated in the subcontinent. This religion is based on Vedas. It is one of the oldest religions and is still practiced today by Hindus who adhere to the scriptures, philosophies and spiritual practices of Vedic or Hinduism.

According to Hinduism, if a person follows practices and principles of this religion then he will become a better human being and will live in harmony and peace. It is not just a religion but a way of life that covers all areas of life ranging from family to health behaviors. The unique feature of this religion is that deliverance and liberation can be achieved in this life without having to wait for paradise or heaven after death. Hinduism does not have a single doctrine which serves as a source teaching (LeonelGamezCespedes, 1999).

It focuses on freedom of thought by remaining within the limitations morality and conduct (hinduism.iskcon.org). The main festivals that are celebrated by Hindus are Diwali, Holi, Navaratri, Shiva Ratri, Dassera, Raksha Banda, Ganesha, Krishna Jayanti and Kumbh ...
