Introduction

This paper has been written to increase the boundaries of knowledge and information, and the main idea to this paper is to examine and discuss about the case of Maruna and the idea of experiencing the self as a cause, and in addition to this, the paper will also talk about the sense of how the self-examination can be the part of the observation when the client is in the psychotherapeutic process. The paper covers the part on the concepts of rehabilitation, along with the ideas of the treatments for the overall process. However, the last two decades can be termed and counted as the examples, where several researches took place and gathered several evidences and along with facts and figures, which have supported and acclaimed the notion where it says that it is possible to eliminate the re-offending rate by the use and process of rehabilitating the offender, instead of putting them into a strict punishment.

However, turning from the pure punishment model to the rehabilitation model which includes the pendulum's swing back, is perhaps one of the most effective and significant events in the unconventional and modern policy for correction to any punishment. Nevertheless, this is a very comprehensive feedbacks and reviews from the scholars, who actually argues on the facts that the rehabilitation should cover two things, one is the promotion of human good, which includes the necessary needs and wants which is essential for the offender to have, more over in other words, these are the pure ingredients for spending a good life, and the second thing that they should focus on is to avoid and eliminate the element of risk (Maruna, 2001).

However, the concept of rehabilitation lies in the value-laden process and procedures, which consists of a very fragile balancing of the needs, wants and desires of the clients and the therapist both, and in addition to this, it would also include the State and the public as well. Rehabilitation

The term rehabilitation refers to the restoration to the life that is to return back to original life through the set of therapies, and eventually it help in restoring the life, and good condition to a person. However, there are some assumptions that are linked with the term and concepts of rehabilitation (Ward, 2007). Those assumptions are under the notion that the people are not permanently criminal, and there is a further assumption that those criminals can be brought back to their normal life, where they can contribute in their own and others life along with the contribution in the betterment of the society (Polizzi, 2009).
