Introduction

Everyone on this earth fulfils the responsibility according to the role that nature has bestowed upon him/her. Most often the interests and upbringing of an individual play a vital role in eventually imbedding those responsibilities in an individual. For instance, the adoption of the profession of nursing emerges from the inner desire of an individual, to serve and help the mankind, especially those in distresses and ailing conditions. As noble as the profession may look from outside, it demands sheer acuteness, sense of responsibility and the strength to cope up with the stressful situation.

Quite often it happens that numerous individuals tend to volunteer in the hospital or any other institute, out of the desire of serving and helping people in distress and ailing conditions. However, as pious and baronial it may seem, these individuals will only be assigned tasks that may not include any intense situation or their involvement. Most importantly, these individuals do not possess any formal training or qualification that may declare them to be adept at handling a dire situation of a patient. Therefore, affording to leave them in a position where at times even the life of the patient is in their hands and even a minor and insignificant negligence from their part can be a cause of the loss of a precious life.

Therefore, as the world has progressed and so did the field of medical science, what earlier used to be mere helpers has now evolved to be a dignified registered nurse. However, another category of nursing that exists in the medical world is that of the practitioner nurse or a practical nurse.

It is extremely essential for the practical nurses to clear the licensing exams, to be eligible for being hired. However, a registered nurse is required to graduate from a university or college in a nursing program, besides fulfilling the prerequisite of passing the national licensing exams (Bodin. 2007).

The registered nurses essentially require assisting and serving the ailing individuals, as well as, other persons to guide them regarding numerous diseases and the essential measure to prevent them. Their tasks are not only bound till the premises of the hospitals only. They may also help and assist the individuals at an industry, other health care facilities, camps, physicians' offices, schools, private homes, and numerous public health agencies.
