Performance in writing essays

In the last academic year in my college writing essays was part of my course. I had to write a lot of essays relating to different topics during the whole session. My class fellows had to do the same assignments as well. We were usually asked to do our tasks individually and were given enough time to gather information on the topic we were required to write upon. For reading the relevant material our instructors asked us to visit the library which was situated in the premises of our institute. We were also asked to browse the internet for keeping ourselves abreast of the current research done upon the given topic. After collecting information I and my class fellows were able to write essays on the given topics.

Whenever I was given a topic on which I had to write an essay I became worried about doing it because I was not good at searching material. It usually took me hours to gather information upon the specific topic. There were also instances when even after the struggle of hours I was not able to get relevant information and then I took this matter to my instructor and he helped me in teaching the ways of searching and gathering information. Furthermore, when I had collected the required material it was again a big task to compile all of the information available in a few words. The writing essay tasks were hence a challenge for me but through practice and the guidance of my instructors I was able to write them. My class fellows were facing more or less the same problems but our teachers were of the view that through practice we will become good writers. Now it does not take me a lot of time to gather information and write an essay on it.

Though I made mistakes earlier and also took a lot of time for writing a short essay but the good thing about this experience is that repeated efforts made me a good writer. The bad thing in this experience was that I became depressed earlier as writing essays appeared a tough task for me but after discussing the problems with my teachers I got solutions for my problems.

If I encountered the similar sort of event again I will try to improve my research skills for gather the relevant information for writing essays as this skill to be further polished.

Performance in oral presentations

In the last academic year in my college oral presentations were also the part of my course. Being a student I had to make a lot of oral presentations regarding different topics during the whole session. My class fellows had to make the oral presentations on the similar topics as well.
