Nature Vs Nurture

This is one of the oldest debates in the history of humanity in relation to psychology. The debate is centralized on the point of contribution by inheritance or by environmental factors in the human development. Many of the thinkers like Plato and Descartes considers that certain things are innate because they are not influenced by any environmental factor. While the other thinkers like John Locke believes on the principle of Taula Rasa, this means that the person mind is blank and that he learns from the environmental influence (Stiles, 2008).

When a person becomes a criminal there are various factors involved in it. Some experts consider that these criminals are inborn and that they have certain genetic structure, which makes them act in a certain way. This is also seen by the fact that these genetic cells or structure makes the person reacts in a certain way. However, many other experts consider that these sorts of activities promoted or begin with the up brining of the person. For example, Michael Jackson was caught in a case in which he was involved in a case of child molestation. Although he was found not guilty of the whole action yet he when the study of his life was done (Stiles, 2008). It is believed that he could have been molested in his early life. There is other various cases where a person is a victim of racism turns out to be a bad tempered in the later life. This shows that the present environment has also great role to play. Thus to sum up in different act there are different level of involvement of Nature and Nurture

In addition, studies have demonstrated as well that nourishment executes a noteworthy function in development of cognition ("Nature vs. Nurture", 2001). The majority of professionals has the same opinion that most of the characteristics related to the development of a child are a result of the interface of nature and nurture both (Bee, 2004). Fascinatingly, in current times, latest knowledge and technology has facilitated scientists to achieve a profound consideration of the hereditary constituent of development and growth, mounting concentration on this area of the dispute (Bee, 2004. pp. 3). Even though no extended an “all or nothing” concern, the amount to which nurture and nature have an effect on growth and development will expected to be argued for duration in the future.

It is imperative to state that the debate between Nature vs. Nurture may be understood from the fact that certain things truly are nature and there are those that we learn from our environment. There is a balance between the two which have to be ...
