One of the new understandings I came across during my assignment which was Frederick Douglass, contribution towards the forceful actions against the evils of slavery both in America and abroad, through the political power which will help in achieving. Before I started analyzing the articles, I had come across new terms and concepts that I never heard. As they talked about the slave that turned statesman whose speeches and writings played a significant role in the fight against slavery in the United States.
The next type was the description of Douglass in the abolishment movement although Douglass was not a student of philosophy in the scholarly sense, his considerable influence on American political thought is evident in the writings of W. E. B. Du Bois and other later thinkers on race. After that, I found out the factors that made Fredrick Douglas start this movement. The most important thing which I thought, was impressive, the William Lloyd Garrison's thoughts; which expressed his views regarding the African Colonization accompany in the immediate phase of the abolitionist movement that directly influenced a new generation of young reformers. I also found out that a language that has sets, of usage, these rules needed to be changed in that era. Verbal innovations have a large impact on the Protestantism against slavery and discrimination. I wish I have suggested the same innovation which was very powerful in the Abolitionist movement. The thing which I was, missing was Abraham Lincoln with whom Douglass had an ambivalent personal and political relationship. Then when I analyzed their relationship, I recognized what Lincoln meant in the postwar period which was central to establishing the meaning of the Civil War in American memory.
