Recycling is a process which changes any kind of waste material into a new product either of same kind or in a different form. Recycling is done to prevent waste of very useful materials which eventually causes a reduction in the consumption of fresh raw materials, therefore reducing energy usage. If a waste product is not recycled it is subjected to incineration mostly which can cause severe air pollution in the environment, creating many other health hazards. In some cases where a waste is not incinerated it is mostly disposed in the oceans which destroys the marine life and human health simultaneously causing water pollution. Recycling reuses those waste products which are subjected to be disposed off and therefore makes them useful. Reusing the products cause a decrease in pollution and an increase in the quality of life is experienced.
The main recyclable materials include different kinds of paper, glass, metals, plastics, various textiles and electronics. Some main examples of recycling are office paper, plastic bottles, soda cans, poly ethane bags, computer components, lead and car batteries and paper boards etc. (EPA, 2014).
