Abstract

The assignment paper aims to enlighten several magnitude of communal life, together with the effects of current social guidelines. The high rate of recidivism is emphasized in the paper overall the study encompass about the cause and effect relationship mentioning as well as highlighting the main reasons as to why it is essential to address such issues that relate to recidivism. The paper further focuses on the cost associated with such concerns. The paper is of much importance towards the study as it is essential in highlighting the short falls in terms of reducing recidivism. The paper focuses on the main causes related to reoccurrence of crime in the United States of America along with the programs and benefits provided should be given to the criminals. Recidivism here plays the main role as the behaviour of the prisoner is portrayed after the person is allowed the leverage to straighten out the right way and help lead a better life.

Statement of the Problem

With reference to criminal recidivism, the United States is considered to be in middles of crisis. It is estimated that approximately two thirds on the prisoners, within the duration of next three years from their release will be re-incarcerated again (McKean and Ransford, 2004). To specifically define recidivism it is deterioration of an individual to resume into the activity of crime which is based on the arresting again for a new offense that would cause imprisonment (McKean and Ransford, 2004). Re-entry is also termed as redivism, it is the process in which the prisoners are released in a society again, it can also be defined as the planning of changeover for the prisoners for a free living, it includes the judgment of the time, the way they have spend in the prison and the process which led to their release and the supervising their release in a way that it is safe for the general public (Petersilia, 2003). Reintegration is also referred as re-entry; it included preparing the victim, family and community for the release of the prisoner.
