Rebecca is made ??in 1940 By Alfred Hitchcock and it is the first film that Hitchcock made in America. This film can be regarded as a very faithful adaptation of a bestseller novel by Daphne Du Maurier. For this film it was the second time that Hitchcock went to this writer as a source of inspiration, after Posada Jamaica. The excellent outcome as a result of the film would be remembered forever. This classic movie of Hitchcock won the Oscar for best picture and was starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine, who were candidates for her performance as Best Actor and Best Actress (David, 2009).

The film is a kind of gothic tale that might look like Cinderella: the story of a young girl torn loose ends from the clutches of a terrifying maternal figure by a rich man and a widower who takes her to live in a beautiful English property. However, the young second wife must win lot of memories of the first wife, Rebecca De Winter, who still haunts in the main stream. One of the staff members of the house, Mrs. Danvers, pays particular attention to constantly rekindle memories of the deceased, so maintaining the fanatical idea of ??her eternal presence among the living world (Sandy, 2012).

The role of this new wife is played by Fontaine. In the movie, she discovered little by little the legendary figure of Rebecca. Maxim's late wife was a true lady of high society, beautiful, smart, funny, capable, charming, sensual, perfect lover, capable organizer and host great parties and balls. Maxim's second wife was continuously compared to Maxim's first wife. At Maxim's house everywhere was Rebecca even the initials of her name was embroidered on linen or paper letters. Under the cover of style, beauty and personality of Rebecca was hiding something very different from what we had, for all. Only Maxim, and Mrs. Danvers, Rebecca's Maiden moved to Manderley with Maxim after the wedding to serve his wife as maiden. Living at Manderly was not a steady job and this was because it is grand and Rebecca loved this lifestyle. In the house, the narrator has a suite of the room which is located in the East wing of the house which overlooks the rose garden. However, Maxim's rooms were located in the West Wing of the house. Rebecca's room had clothes in wardrobe there were hairbrushes on her dressing table, and night dress was on the bed. Everything in her room was very beautiful. Manderly was a sepulcher and it seemed as if fear, and suffering was buried in the ruins which would not have any rebirth. Thinking about Manderly often brings to the minds of the readers that the place was scary, and they would have lived there without fear.
