Realistic Characteristics in the Writing of Mark Twain

Introduction

Over the years several books have been widely discussed and criticized a novel by Mark Twain, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Many schools have gone so far as to ban the book from high school reading lists, despite its strong sense of realism. Nevertheless, this novel is a historical part of the literature and should not be prohibited in the classroom because of its content are only part of American history.

Analysis

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was not only debated in recent years, she also was criticized when the book came out. The book was banned by the library itself, the Concorde of its publication. Initial discussion of language and dialects, the book was written in. As the two men elected to tell the story of Huck's own words, dialect, that illiterate village boy raised in the town drunkard. Hucks own comments are rude, ignorant, harsh comments and observations, not an intellectual writer (Leo Marx, pp. 129 -146).

While some wondered exactly portray the character of Mark Twain's Huck and speech, while others do not like or agree with him. People are accustomed to writing dialect of the upper class. When the two decided to write about the life and adventures of the character, like Huck, he knew he could not be done by the type of writing that was normal for this period (Jehlen, pp 107-109).

Until then, it was published "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the most appropriate and scientific literature. Therefore, when people began reading the improper and informal language of Huck Finn, this was a great shock. At the Concord Public Library, the Committee believes that the book is better suited to the slums than intelligent, decent people. "Many librarians have argued that Twain's characters were poor role models for children. It was the first cause of his book is avoided by the public (Eliot, pp. 296-290).

History Huck was a turning point in American literature. He began to destroy the wall between the spoken language and script. Year of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published marked the beginning of a new literary period known as realism.

Objective Realism period (1855-1918) was to portray life as realistically as possible. The authors have done so through the normal characters and events, such as Huck and his adventures river. The text included custom character, dialect, and the actual description. One of the goals in higher education today is the study of literature in the same period (Jehlen, pp 107-109). Why then should not be Adventures of Huckleberry be not only allowed, but approval?
