Introduction
For almost half a century since politics among Nations realist theory has been the focus of the study of international politics. Accordingly, if we wish to understand the development and current state of all the academic theories on international relations, we must first understand the realist theory, since the alternative analytical approaches have often referred to their theoretical perspectives and their research projects in opposition to one or more elements of the realist theory (Amstutz, 2006).
The core of the realist theory can be summarized by the assumptions, which suggest that the centrality of the state for the realists, the nation-state is the basic unit of political organization. Realists recognize that other actors, such as international institutions, multinational corporations, and transnational organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, working in the international system (Brian, 2004). Politics among nations therefore represents a milestone, which has been fixed in the following decades to when they see the prints in 1948, the most general theory of international relations, and a volume fundamental object of study in all the major academies of sciences contemporary politics.
