Introduction

This is a reaction paper on the article “Jihad vs. McWorld” written by Benjamin Barber in the Atlantic Monthly. The author turned from the intellectual pressures of his democratic vision to the socioeconomic ones. In this article, he views as the two international prevailing and current trends, movements that are, correspondingly, sinking the world to inflexible fragments and providing it an unprecedented harmony.
