Introduction

Rape is one of the biggest social and emotional dilemmas that a substantial number of women have to contend with in the context of the global society. Due to the nature of the crime and the complex attributes of the offenders, it is essentially impossible for the regulatory authorities to safe guard the females from the sex offenders. Contrary to the popular belief the act of rape is not primarily about the sexual pleasure, rather the criminals who undertake this activity have a substantial emotional dilemmas which they contend with the act of forced sex. The majority of the sex offenders attribute emotions such as anger, depression and the feeling of insecurity as the motivation for their raping activities (Weiner et Al, 1990). These people have a severe emotional and psychological imbalance, which they only satisfy with overpowering the physically weak women and causing them to experience torment and displeasure. Through the act of rape these individuals are able to afflict their own negative emotion son to the victims, making them feel empowered and powerful. The general profile of the sex offenders clearly highlight that these individuals are not normal or balanced individuals rather they are social outsiders and loners.
