The paper discusses how the racism spoils the development of the society and the negative impact of the racial based discrimination on the society of the United States. In addition to it, the paper discusses three different sociology theories regarding the racism in order to understand the concept of racism. Further, the paper highlights the role of sociological researches in the context of racism.

Racism

Racism is described as the discrimination among the people of the same country on the basis of difference in their biological characteristics. The racism embraces the inequality in the rights of the people on the basis of biological triggers such as skin color, eye color, hair color, jaw lines and many other physical differences that create differentiation. In the United States of America, the concept of Racism is comparatively sharp. The citizens of the United States suffer badly due to the discrimination based on racism (Eitzen, Zinn & Smith, 1989).

Racism is one of the biggest social issues in the United States of America. The common people of the United other then the White citizen have to face the disastrous effects of the racism in their daily life. The Black Americans and other citizens with different biological characteristics usually face discrimination from the white citizens. This social problem induces the feelings in the citizens of the United States that the White Americans are more socially acceptable for having more presentable appearance (Warren, 2000).
