In the context of the contemporary global social environment, the issue regarding race and ethnic based dilemmas has increased drastically. The primary reason for the exaggerated emergence of such issues can be identified with the modern cosmopolitan based factors which have emerged in the global society. The phenomenon of globalization has helped bring the differentiated global communities in a unified social bond, in which the people belonging to diverse socio ethnic backgrounds live collectively. In these societies the social makeup and regulatory policies have to be developed on an equitable and fair basis, so that the overall society receives similar treatment (Gross & Livingston, 2002). The dilemma regarding the racial based issues emerges when the social and political forces of a given society are not willing to change their traditional and biased mindsets. However it would be an incorrect conclusion to state that racial profiling itself is a completely unethical and out dated activity, which does not have any real world relevance. In order to completely understand the concept of racial profiling it is important to conduct a critical analysis of the given society and the external forces, which have led to the creation of the biased and racially oriented social and legal policies.
In the majority of the racial profiling cases that occur in the developed countries, it is usually the minority groups that have to be subjected to unfair and biased policies. In the context of the developed and civilized societies that exist in the current global environment, it important for the regulatory authorities to eradicate the biased polices and instances of racial profiling (Tonry, 1997). In the current environment the global human society is moving towards the process of mass socio cultural integration, where the emphasis if being laid on the cognitive and intellectual capabilities of an individual rather than their ethnic backgrounds. The process of globalization n the business sector has helped the integration of the global social forces (Smith & Petrocelli, 2001). In this scenario the regulatory authorities of the relevant developed countries have to ensure that they eradicate any biased and racially based laws and policies, which might subject individuals from a minority group to face discrimination.
