Rachel Getting Married

Description Of Person

Rachel Getting Married on the big screen transposes the feeling of being inadequate. The inadequacy of Kym in front of the regular life and provisional, since the marriage of her sister is only a short vacation from her therapeutic procedure. A party ended this feeling Kym will take him with her in the Institute where she is receiving treatment and only temporarily disappear from the life of her family, or rather will be shelved. Kym is egocentric to feel unwell, often awkward because insecure and inexperienced, but her vulnerability and her good intentions just as often, thanks to the director, evoke tenderness. The viewer is on his side and at the same time, influenced from the embarrassment of her family, he fears the behavior, because he knows that at any moment can compromise her precarious balance and further complicate her relations with her family. This is the main element of tension in the film, but it is a human tension, natural.

The story unfolds without hurry to reveal the a-priori film and psychology of the characters is described, without finding a show. But that spectacle is rooted in U.S. customs: marriage to Rachel's steps becomes more of a show, the disease. Kym is stuck in a reality show as we are informed by a lightning stop a minor character and the ' only true when the family comes together is in front of a camera, after an appeal by a mother and sister Rachel. From this point of view, Rachel, Kym and all those around them are victims of a system accepted without batting an eye, a priori. Here emerges a conflict that sets in motion the film, namely between the representation that the director gives his characters and what the characters give of themselves. Inadequate staging in short, is due to a cultural issue, a lack of experience created by a system that trains the show of feelings, feeding, and prepares for life.

Demme's direction alternates passages nervous; more free and improvised to the more stable and linear, a bit 'like a jam session. Yeah, because the musicians in the film including Robyn Hitchcock and Sister Carol , already seen in Something Wild and Married to the cheerful but not too much are part of the chorus of actors and the director directs sure not snobberies anyone. Not by chance in the closing credits there is a special thanks to Robert Altman, who died in 2006.

PROBLEM

The main problem that I identified in the case of Kym is that she has a drug addiction problem and had bad relationship with her mother which have a negative impact. Specifically, drug addiction has been found to negatively impact an individual in the criminal justice system, one's opportunities for jobs and lodging one's self esteem and one's attitudes toward and willingness to seek professional psychological help (Stewart 2005). The negative impact of stigma creates a mandate for researchers to examine ways to decrease this ...
