Race and your Community

Introduction

Community is defined as the pool of social group, which can be of any size, and members of that group reside in specific locality, share government, and often have a general culture and historical tradition. I belong to a community where are equal proportion of Hispanic, and African American are residing. However, there are residents with little proportions of Caucasians than other caste of Hispanic and African American. In this research paper I will be discussing and analyzing about the relationship of my community with the local government of my region, my workplace and schools. This discussion will further shed light on the representation of my community by media, similarities and differences between me and other members of my community who are leaders. Lastly, I will present the solutions for resolving inequalities in my community, and concept of the text related to race in my community.

Members of my community

In my community most of people do not look like me, or there are no similarities between me and my community members. My neighbors do not look like me, as I live in a community where there is majority of African Americans and Hispanics. Even though, my neighbors and other members of the community are comprised of African Americans and Hispanic, with other caste ranging from Asians, Caucasians, Hispanics and Arabs. In my community the relationship between the people is extremely well.

In my community, working environment varies with different situations and circumstances. As my community is the home to State government, there is also a local government, which makes community as larger city with home of State capital. The mayor of my community is very hardworking and supportive, and he works efficiently for the betterment of our community. The economy is tough in today`s period, but our local community leaders have maintain the recession by lessening the issues of job loss (Linda, 2001). There is diversity in my community work place as different people works in a team. My workforce has a blend of Caucasian & African American supervisors. There are many associates with me who belongs to African American and Hispanics. The people in my community are different as there levels of career and work fields are diverse. My community members work in different sectors and fields, which show the diverse nature of my community, and most importantly they show the unity at all levels. There are plenty of opportunities available in my community for all the people from diverse culture and diverse race, without worrying about the racial barrier (Meeker, 2010).

Treatment of Leaders to community members

The leaders of my community treat all the members of community in equal way, and there is no discrimination on the basis of race. The reason of equal treatment by the leaders of my community is due to the diverse base of the leaders at top level.
