1. Why are personal and academic integrity important to you? How is personal integrity related to academic integrity? Is there a difference?
Ans. Academic integrity is the pursuit of scholarly activity in an open, honest and responsible manner. Academic integrity is a basic guiding principle for all academic activity. The personal integrity of a potential mentor is of paramount importance as a wrong matching can lead to multiple issues in the relationship which may reach pathologic proportions. We consider character building to be an integral aspect of our programs, as learning without personal integrity will be of little value to the individual and the society. There is a difference between personal and academic integrity as the academic integrity emphasizes more on collective efforts while personal integrity focuses on individual change and honesty (Taylor, 20).
2. Do you agree or disagree with Professor Taylor when he says that integrity is “an essential part of any true educational experience?” Explain your answer
Ans. I am completely agreed with Professor Taylor. Integrity is fundamental components of a student's education and character development. The significance of integrity in the future plays a role as citizen-leaders in various settings. Integrity is characteristic people seek just like good work ethics, reliability, and dependability. A personal attitude of integrity is something that is sole to each individual and takes some time and thought to develop. Integrity provides a rich environment in which to work on developing a personal philosophy of integrity (Taylor, 52).
3. Reflect on a person or people besides yourself who were affected by your act of academic dishonesty. How did it affect them? How would you feel if you were impacted by someone else's academic dishonesty?
