Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to identify the exam in which I have appeared, and setting the suitable standard setting methods giving the reason of my choice. This paper emphasizes on focusing on the information about the encountered difficulties, passing marks identification and the number of students passed/failed, based on the standard set by my standard setting methods. This paper also gives the analyses that how many people have passed and failed to use the usual standard and 50% pass mark.

Standard Setting Approach for Paper

This section focuses on selecting the standard setting method for my paper. This is a method used, by the institutions to select a passing score for a desired exam. The standard setting method can also be termed as the art rather than science. These methods have their usage in the test development process (Massen, 2010, p. 89). These standard setting methods have its usage in the construction of judgement and policy. The passing scores have its usage as making discrimination in the masters and non masters. It is necessary that the examinee should have the scores more than the passing points, so that the scorers can classify the masters and non masters. In case, the scorers misclassify the examinees then they can refer it as classification error. The panel of judges sit and classify the marks and select the competent examinees. In this paper, I will use the informed judgement method, which is a test-based approach. In this method, the overall test and its content has been approved by a panel of judges and stakeholders.
