Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the significance of public policies. The most important fact related to the aspect that public policies can be evaluated or not will be discussed in the paper. The topic selected for the purpose of discussion is political theory and American politics. The effectiveness of various governmental programs along with the methodological issues which investigators face remains the basic criteria of research within this paper. Further, the response of leaders on evaluations being made in relation with their policies will also be explored. The purpose of this paper is to make the reader aware about the significance of evaluating the public policies made by the upper leadership for the purpose of enhancing the facilities to the public. However, it is not always necessary that the policies made by the authorities reach the underlying objectives and even liked by the public. The most important policies which are related to the public directly are the health, economic and law enforcement policies. All these policies tend to directly impact the welfare of public; therefore these policies must be evaluated in relation with the political culture of Untied States of America. This paper will outline the basic issues in relation with the political theories and American politics.

Discussion

The American political culture has witnessed a surprising era within its political culture ranging from 2004 to 2012. This era witnessed a continuous reelection of two presidents; George W. Bush and Barrack Obama. Both the presidents have received a great amount of criticism from the general public; however, they were able to be reelected. The American political culture has reflected the importance of the presidents possessing the power to convince people to vote accordingly. The messages of these political figures are crafted making an emotional appeal and all the benefits and advantages have been highlighted which the citizens possess while reelecting the presidents of United States which immensely impacts the electoral process. The relationship between the Congress and the president has always been important to the political system of United States of America (Blake, 2013).

It remains extremely important to realize that the aspects of federalism and the constituency are essential for both the president and congress to work together for the purpose of delivering constructive benefits the American society. There is a critical link between the congress and presidency and it has been referred to as the 'central link' within the politics of America. This aspect has impact the American political culture immensely from the tenure of 2004 to 2012 (Mark, 2006). The political changes within the United States of America are witnessed in the form of the underlying shift of focus. The basic focus of policies has shifted towards health, economy and also to the handling of terrorism. The increased terrorism worldwide has made the governments to make underlying policies in order to provide maximum security to its citizens (Christensen & Smith, 2010).
