Introduction

The article discusses different theories that discuss various points of views on the leadership context and relate them to the concept of the public leadership. The article discusses the differences that exist in between these theories and how have they contributed towards the public leadership concept. Furthermore, this article also deals with the various facts and values connected with the public leadership concept, it also discusses that how the concept of public leadership does is differentiated from the concept of traditional leadership. The discussion in the article sheds light upon the different theories and as to how these theories affect the concept of the public leadership concept. Also, the discussion identifies the different values that are related to the public leadership and also identifies as to what are the values that are important to the public as the discussion pertains to the public leadership, which is directly related to the interest of the public.

At first the paper discusses the theories that are related to the public leadership and shows how they contribute towards the leadership in organizations that are in practice. Following this, the discussion follows the evaluation of the case given by Electronic hallway, under the light of the crux of the theories discussed and guides the analysis of the case towards a particular direction.

Discussion

According to Fairholm (1994) the concept of leadership is diminishing as of the rise of the organizations which are increasingly playing the role in almost every walk of life, which is hindering the development of the leaders. According to Fairholm (1994), the diference in the previous leaders who were considered to be true, visible and dynamic in their leadership are not present these days. The organizations are relying heavily on the leaders which are not actually the leaders but are actually normal people with no characteristics of leaders and are basically governed by the organizations which are playing the role of leadership, this can be seen in people who are relying more on the leaders from organizations which are mostly the governmental, religious etc (Fairholm, 1994).

According to Denhardt et. al (2006) the public leadership is best suited for those leaders who are not on the front, or in other words it could be understand in the words that public leadership is best suitable for those leaders that do not take the credit but instead motivate the team members to achieve or work towards a common goal, while staying between them as one of them (Denhardt et. al, 2006).

While as according to Wart (2003), the role of public leaders have been side tracked by the rise of perceived leaders from the top positions of the organizations which are basically not the type of leaders that should be considered as the leaders but instead should only be restricted to their post within the organization; but as according to the importance of their role in the organization, they are considered as leaders and are thus perceived by the public as public leaders, ...
