A response on the paper of Martin Logo Public health informatics is the implementation of science of computer and technology in a systemic way to the fields of public health research and learning. Health informatics includes the backgrounds of development, design, maintenance and surveillance of the information of health of the patients. The knowledge is used from different areas like management, psychology, communication science and the areas of public health are also focused like microbiology, toxicology, biochemistry and many more (William, A. et al 2000). Hence it can be stated that the study of informatics can be used for the surveillance of disease with proper education and training. According to a research the specific core competencies should be provided that can be helpful in the achievement of goals of the students (Lombardo et al 2007). It is further approved in The Public Health Competency Handbook (2002) that there are eleven basic competencies that are needed for the achievement of goals and the enhanced use of information technology is one of the basic core competencies among them. Furthermore, the other sub competencies can be the distribution and collection of the information that can be taken from the new research or the community data (Patrick, W. 2002). In the following paper the core competencies are suggested to be analyzed by the health status and they all are located under the 8 areas of analysis that include the planning and assessment of skills, cultural and communication skills, skills of public health and communication dimensions, the financial and leadership skills (Lombardo et al 2007).
