Introduction

Public Administration involves the civil servants implementing a particular policy that is under their framework. There are two main objectives that public administration is responsible of, first is the complete concern with the government policies while second is the academic discipline that analyzes this implementation and train the government servants that will be involved in working in the public service. Public administration centers itself around organizing programs, policies, initiatives and day to day operations of an agency to allow it to run effectively proving its viability in our environment (Public Administration, 2013).

Public services are required to be efficient, so that public is provided with the care and support that they require. Innovation is a way to keep these services up to date in such a manner that people can take advantage from it. Public services are meant to be provided to people in order to make their life easier, and its purpose is to make human life better. There are several advantages and benefits of public services which can be availed by everyone, without any discrimination on the basis of gender, color, race, religion, status or any other characteristics. There is usually a gap between the public interest and private interests, which is supposed to be reduced. Public services are provided according to the different plans made by the government which includes plans related to health care, dental care, education, insurance, retirement and disability plans (Public Administration, 2013).

Public Administration Issues

Public services are provided by the public administration for the interest of public, keeping in mind that the problems and issues of public are solved by the help of different skills and abilities. The purpose of public services is to provide a healthy and safe environment to people, where they can live a good life (Joyce, 1998). The major issues and problems are needed to be identified because then the government can take strong actions and measures to improve them and make changes to it for providing better public services. The two main characters playing a role in this public administration are the government and the general public (Menzel, 2011).

There are different issues and problems related to public services as presented in this case. The issues and problems are highlighted below:

Innovation

Innovation is one of the biggest issues faced by public services, as the focus of government and regulatory bodies is lacking in bringing innovation in these services. They are just focusing on providing services in the traditional and old methods. The hierarchical structures are restricting new ideas, and are not allowing bringing any changes and innovations in the public services. This is because many people believe that innovation can result in higher costs, or the systems will have to undergo several changes (Joyce, 1998). The management usually fails to understand the benefits and advantages of bringing innovation in the public services.
