Psychosocial Processes

The field of social psychology pertains to the discipline that intervenes between the general sociology and general psychology. The interaction skills are the special type of social skills that are required by every individual in order to perform in the personal and professional lives. They include the communication and interpersonal abilities of an individual through which they can successfully build rapport and establish relationships with others. In the field of healthcare, the interaction skills play an important part in terms of understanding patients' problems, queries, managing their treatments, building trust and confidence in them (Strawbridge, Wallhagen, Cohen, 2002).
