Psychometric Measurement is often described as Problematic. Why is this?
Introduction
Psychometrics is the science studying all measurement techniques practiced in psychology, and technical validation of these measures. These techniques apply to all fields of psychology, and other related areas of science such as behavioural researches but they were mainly developed originally for measuring intellectual performance (ages mental or intellectual quotient, quotient development in early childhood, etc.) or for the analysis of the components of personality (emotions, emotions, relationships with others, etc.). It is the science of measuring the mind, which became a science by introducing the arithmetic and calculation in the phenomena of mind (Biderman & Reddock, 2012, pp. 647-651).
The general of Psychometrics deals with method & theory & of psychological extent. Main tasks of t research is primarily progress & improvement of theoretical looms of psychological measurement, & the development of fundamental methods for the development of measurement instruments and general procedures for psychological measurements, both for basic research and applied fields of psychology (Waiyavutti et.al, 2012), p. 545).
Currently outweigh work on psychological tests, observation instruments, and other methods psychological assessments for more applied fields, especially the traffic psychology, human resources and occupational psychology, clinical neuropsychology, school psychology and legal psychology (Naemi et.al, 2009.pp. 261-286).
Definitions
The common declaration defines psychometrics as “every branch of psychology that deals with the psychological measurements”. According to this view so every field of psychology psychometric shares, or, in other ultimately expressed, psychometrics is one of the cross-sectoral, connecting, methodological approaches of psychology, psychometrics is therefore a "red thread" that runs through all branches of psychology. It thus combines all the psychologists and is an essential element in the education profile of the profession and of psychology as a science (Biderman & Reddock, 2012, pp. 647-651).
Other psychologists prefer in their professional practice interpretive (qualitative) methods of psychology and qualitative research, as the qualitative content analysis, differentiated methods of psychological interviews, psychoanalytic interpretations. Mutual misunderstandings are often on the ambiguous concept of measurement (scaling) and on opposite beliefs in fundamental questions of philosophy of science and the psychological anthropology due (Naemi et.al, 2009.pp. 261-286).
Psychometrics Measurement
Psychometrics is the field of study of the theory and technique of measurement in psychology, including the extent of the knowledge, the skills, the attitudes and characteristics of personality. The field of study is particularly aimed towards the study of differences between individuals. Involves two important aspects of research, namely:
The construction of instruments and procedures for measurement;
The development and refinement of theoretical methods of measurement.
A psychometric measurement describes the relationship between the parameters of mild irritation and decides about any aspect of a person's response. Resembles a psychometric function is usually seen in s-shaped function correct response (similar value), the percentage of the ordinate and physical parameters on the horizontal axis. Stimulation parameters at one end of its range of very meolmyeon, people always react correctly (Rammstedt et.al, 2010, pp. 53-61).
