The police department plays an important role in the societies. The laws or regulations cannot be enforced without the efficiency and the effectiveness of the police departments. It has been found that in recent years, the women are also taking part in the police department and they are playing their important roles. In recent years it was considered that the jobs in the police department are suitable for the men as women have not the capabilities to perform the jobs in the police department as efficiently as women. The research study has shown that there are various psychological factors that affect the performances of the women in the police department. The results of the research study have also shown that women have certain emotional factors that affect the efficiency of their performances. Therefore, in assigning various jobs in the policing departments, the women are mostly not considered because it is believed that women cannot perform such tasks efficiently and there is great possibility that the biasness may occur. Therefore, the large number of positions is always made available for the men in the department whereas the women are mostly deprived of the leadership positions in the police departments. Based on the study of various research studies and articles, the thesis statement is found to be true that in the male dominated police organization, the women face difficulties in managing their occupational roles. From the analysis and the drawn conclusion it is suggested that the women in the police departments should be given proper training and education regarding the controlling of psychological and emotional factors so that they can perform their policing activities with great efficiency and effectiveness.
