The Influence of Music Preference and Gender on Extraversion
Abstract
The study aims to find the influence of music preference and gender on extraversion. The study uses primary research methodology to gather the data from 40 participants from which 20 were male and 20 were female. Moreover, the results of the study present that extraversion is not affected by music preference and gender. Keeping this in view, it is also noted that both gender and music preference do not affect extraversion.

Introduction
The study relates to influence of music preference and gender on extraversion. The key objective of the study is to know does personality types, especially people with extravert personality like classical music fans or non classical music fans. Besides it, the study also focuses to know does music preference is different between male and females.
Hypotheses
Ho 1: There will be a significant main effect of music preference on extraversion where it is anticipated that classical music fans prefer an introverted personality type than extravert personality type.
Ho 2: There will be a significant main effect of gender on extraversion where it is anticipated that females will score higher on classical music preference than males.
Ho 3: There will be a significant interaction effect of music preference and gender on extraversion where it is anticipated that female non classical music fans will score higher on extraversion than female classical fans whilst male classical fans will score lower on extraversion than male non classical fans.
Variables
For the study of influence of music preference and gender on extraversion, two independent variables are music preference and gender. However, the dependent variable of the study is extraversion.
Method
Design
This research study is based on primary research methodology as the perception of the participants is gathered to study the influence of gender and music preference on extraversion.
Participants
For the purpose of study, both male and female participants are selected in order to get the responses from both gender types regarding influence of gender and music preference on extraversion.
Materials/Apparatus
For data collection, there are various research instruments; however, for this study, a form of questionnaire is used to gather the data from the participants.
Procedure
As the research is based on primary research methodology, thus, the data is collected through random sampling technique. Moreover, data is gathered from 40 participants from which 20 were male and 20 were female.

From the above table that relates to music preference, two factors are considered which include classical music fans and non classical music fans. In this view, it is observed that the majority of the study participants relate to non classical music fans as compared to classical music fans. The reason of this statement is that there are 62.5% people relate to non classical music fans in comparison to classical music fans which is 37.5%.
