Psychology - Dream Interpretation

Introduction

Dreams occupy fundamental position in psychoanalytic treatment and the interpretation of dreams are still not clear. Many theories have been proposed for dreams and its interpretation. In this paper, I am going to share my dream along with my personal interpretation. Then I will interpret the same dream according to the theory of Freud. In the end I will discuss the interpretation of dream according to the model of activation synthesis hypothesis.

My Dream

I had a dream, where I have arranged a party for my friends at my house. My all friends came to my party but I could not attend the party. Everyone was having fun, playing games, dancing on music and chit chatting with each other, and I was busy in kitchen cooking food for them and cleaning. Whenever I think that I am done with cleaning, just when I get to start cleaning something else. In the mean time, people were also requesting me for food to cook. I then started cooking meal for my friends whatever they had requested. My friends were waiting for food to eat anxiously; they rushed into the kitchen with the expectation that food must be ready.

My Interpretation

In my view, I am having a long break from college. I have an overwhelmed feeling that my college is going to start after a long break. This might be the reason my friends were there in my dream because I have missed them in their absence. Sometimes I feel that I have a lot of projects to do, on every occasion I feel that I have finished my project, I always get some other project to work on or something else is required to work on that project for example, more research or more writing.
