Introduction

Donald Winnicott (1896-1971) was an English pediatrician. He studied psychoanalysis with Melanie Klein. For Donald Winnicott the main aspect of healthy development was based on the fact of good relationships and micro interactions with other people. Therefore he had a particular interest in Object Relations Theory (Anonymous, n.d, p.1). In summary some of Donald Winnicott's chief ideas are as follows:
