Adult Students with Families Experience Greater Stress than Single Students

Abstract

This is a research project that is based on the topic “Adult Students with Families Experience Greater Stress than Single Students”. Various studies were used to analyse and evaluate the research topic. Various cognitive limitations are found in adult students (non-traditional students) as compared to young students (traditional students) this is mainly due to their age difference in ages. The studies have claimed that adult students with families are facing greater stress level as compared to single adult students and this is due to the number of roles they have to play within their live such as mother, father, sister, brother, employee or employer etc. It is extremely important for the adult students to be given effective environment support and assistance if we want them to get their educational needs fulfilled.

Introduction

Various issues are faced by the adult students who are married as compared to those who are single students. This is the main reason that the level of stress found in married adult students is much higher as compared to those students who are not having family. Adult students are generally those individuals who 25 years or over. Adult students with families have to manage a lot of tasks such as managing expenses of their families, managing their own study expense, taking out time for professional life job and personal engagements etc.

These tasks can be only managed with the help of effective time and resource management and this is often found impossible. Single adult students do not have even the half load that married adult students are managing. Student life is quite tough as it requires extra efforts that can be only done with sound mind. There is a huge difference in the intellectual level of a young student and adult student. Young students have higher level of grasping huge amount of knowledge and on the other hand adult students do not have even half of it. They require extensive or special assistance in getting succeeded in their educational programs.

The psychological connectivity is of great importance and with the passage of time this connectivity weakens and the time comes when the individual needs special guidance and assistance. Huge change is observed in the current educational system, things have become more complicated and complex as research is included in all the aspects of education.

Young students have an ability to explore new things and bring creativity in their work but adult students are still not found expert in those skills. This is just a matter of intellectual capacity and lower stress level. The stress level increases with the increase in complexity of tasks and responsibilities.
